December Love Note: The simplest plan and the kindest path
In a world that strives to constantly create and recreate ‘the latest, the greatest, and the most extraordinary thing ever’, I’m feeling the pull of simplicity strongly these days—the desire to dig deeper and bring to light what is real; to see and feel people and situations through the lens of my heart.
Which has me thinking a lot about two things: Kindness and Simplicity.
Kindness is Grace in Action. It’s a mindset, and a promise to honor all walks of life with the highest good for all and harm to none. It costs nothing yet gives everything. The energetic effects of kindness, while hard to measure, are felt deeply—radiant and full of the love we all came here to be, do, and share.
Simplicity and Kindness go hand in hand. Simplicity asks us to unwrap the layers of what it means to be human, navigating this world as our soul and spirit long for us to do. It’s the stripping away of the external noise and forces designed to keep us on edge, always striving for more. The opposite of simplicity is complication and chaos.
When weighing your options this time of year, I urge you to find the simplest plan and the kindest path. Carve out time to sit quietly with spirit and self, and lean into it. Recall times of kindness you felt and received. Replay acts of kindness you gave and how that made you feel. Open your heart to all the possibilities kindness offers, and most importantly, make a promise to be kinder to yourself. Because it all starts there. The kindness and compassion you give to yourself allow you to freely give it to others. The simplest gifts you can give are empathy, compassion, spiritual generosity, and grace. That will carry you through the end of this year and infinitely beyond.

On December 4th, we have a Full Super Moon in Gemini, highlighting the themes of peers, siblings, short-distance travel, and influence. A gifted communicator and bringer of people together, Gemini basks in the energy of community and whimsy. However, Pluto’s position in Venus may pull you toward gossip or judgment, two unkind mindsets. Rise above that pull, keep it simple, and allow the stability of deeper, truer emotions to guide your interactions.
